Box 92007, Los Angeles, CA 90009 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 20, 2003 AWP5-1003 Contact: Donn Walker Phone: 310-725-3580 Environmental Finding Issued for Grand Canyon West Airport A proposed runway relocation and other improvement projects at the Grand Canyon West Airport in Peach Springs, Ariz., pose no significant environmental issues, the Federal Aviation Administration said today. The FAA has issued a “Finding of No Significant Impact” and record of decision for the airport projects. The finding was based on the results of an environmental assessment prepared earlier this year. Following are the projects at Grand Canyon West Airport addressed by the finding and decision:
The finding states the proposed projects are consistent with environmental policies and objectives in the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 and won’t significantly affect environmental quality.
