FAA News Federal Aviation Administration, Western-Pacific Region, P.O. Box 92007, Los Angeles, CA 90009 ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE AWP-5 08-01 Comment period extended additional public meetings on Northwest 200 supplemental draft environmental assesment
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has proposed various flight procedural changes within the Albuquerque Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC) and the Phoenix Terminal Radar Approach Control boundaries. These changes are necessary to increase safety, efficiency, and ultimately reduce delays. To study the potential environmental impacts for these proposed changes, the FAA prepared a Draft Environmental Assessment (EA). As a result of community concerns and comments received during the Draft EA review process, the FAA developed a third alternative and presented a Supplemental Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for review and comment. The FAA is extending the 30-day comment period for the Supplemental Draft EA an additional 45-days.
The Supplemental Draft EA was made available on June 25, 2001, and will remain available for review and commenting until 5:00 p.m. September 10, 2001. Copies of the Supplemental Draft EA are available for public examination at all local area libraries. An electronic version of the Supplemental Draft EA is available for viewing at www.awp.faa.gov. Written comments should be sent to: Mark Perryman, Vice President
